Expert Goalkeeper Training and Game Analysis: Key Saves and Techniques

Seeing your goalkeepers in action during games is often overlooked when developing their skills. In my goalkeeper philosophy, training isn't just about performing drills or making spectacular saves. It's about preparing goalkeepers to excel in real-game situations and contribute successfully to their teams.

Regular evaluations are crucial for identifying weaknesses and transforming them into strengths. A goalkeeper with fewer weaknesses becomes significantly more challenging to beat. I aim to evaluate each goalkeeper in my club three times per season: at the beginning, middle, and end.

The initial evaluation, conducted by the coach, helps us identify any major weaknesses that need immediate attention to prevent them from affecting the team's performance. The mid-season assessment, also led by the coach, gauges their progress and highlights any new areas that need focus. The final evaluation, again under the coach's guidance, reviews the goalkeeper's overall performance throughout the season. At this point, the coach also has them complete a self-reflection sheet, providing a comprehensive view of their performance.

Throughout these evaluations, we collect statistics to identify any positive or negative patterns, allowing us to address them effectively.
